Straight to the point, seven interesting things Nepalis do better than the rest of the world.
1 Online Poll
Prashant Tamang, Anuradha Koirala, Teriya Thapa Magar and other online voting contests. I am sure if there was online poll about the ‘most powerful country in the world’ it would definitely be Nepal.
2 Proud To Be Nepali
We Nepalis are over sensitive when it comes our country. We are proud of each and every thing associated it. Buddha was born in Nepal and we are proud. Mt. Everest is in Nepal and we are proud. A Nepalese man appears on international media, we are proud. Some random foreigners say a good thing about Nepal and again we are proud. There are more than 200 nations in the world but we wonder why the rest of 199 are not so proud as we are.
3 Nepalis Know How To Welcome Their Guests
If you don’t believe ask our foreign friends who visit Nepal often. Still if you have doubt you can confirm with David Beckham, Prince Harry, Bryan Adams, Selena Gomez, Shah Rukh Khan and others.
4 The Art Of Giving
We Nepalis are very kind at heart who value the art of giving. Be it any fundraiser, charity event or just helping anyone we always try to leave some mark forgetting our own difficulties. Probably being generous is one of the greatest qualities of Nepalis as old proverb goes ‘Khana Pugos Dina Pugos’
5 The Way Nepalis Support Their Team Is Out Of The World
Its absolutely amusing that despite being one the weakest football teams in the world, Nepali supporters are probably amongst the most passionate. Tens of thousands of fans cheer for the country whenever Nepal plays and the stadium is always sold out. Be it football or emerging cricket. This definitely is very rare in world’s sports.
6 Strikes, Protest, Chakka-Jaam, Nepal Banda, Andolan Julus
Need we say more?
7 Establishing A New Organisation For Fun
We Nepalis love gossiping, meeting fellow Nepalis, drinking, having fun and doing little bit of politics in the name of social service. Hence wherever we have a group of 10 people we establish a new organisation esp in foreign land. Baglung Sewa Samiti, Nepali Patrakar Samuha, Newah Group, Magar Samaj, Gulmi Samparka Samiti, Nepali Doctors Association, NRNA you name it. Funny thing is all of those organisations do the same things; cultural programmes, celebrating Dashain/Tihar and Nepali New Year and dance in ‘Mai Chhori Sundari……..’.
Don’t get surprised if you see 7 organisations in a city where less than 100 Nepalis live because we know how to do it 😛
