FC Barcelona and Argentine football star Lionel Messi is building 14 health centres in Nepal. Arguably the best player in the world, Messi shared the news with his 88 million fans on facebook page where he writes ‘I’m really happy to see that the Leo Messi Foundation and UNICEF project in Nepal is going so well. Three health centres have already been built and a further 11 are on the way!’
Messi has served as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador since his appointment in 2010. According to his charity foundation ‘Fundacin Leo Messi’ fourteen centres will be at Gorkha, Dolakha and Kavre districts and all of the will be ready by next month April 2017. After the completion those will be then handed over to District health Office and Ministry of Health. Furniture and equipment will be installed immediately after the construction.
