Dear Gundrukpost,
Brilliant pictures but please get your facts straight and give credits where its due. Some of the pictures here were taken from Nepal Picture Library and among them is a picture titled ‘Kathmandu Elites in Disco, 1969’ . That picture is neither taken in a Disco nor in 1969. It was from the early 80’s in a wedding party.
Thank You for the info.
P.S. photo. 35 (Nepal Banda) from birgunj not kathmandu.
photo 34. by Kevin Bubriski Taken in 1987 not 1975.
thanks
photograph no. 30 – Is it a laptop bag beside the radio set ?
Pls remove ‘kya se kya ho gaya’. Do u really want to convey the message to next generation that we nepali like to quote hindi to express something heavy.
Great collection and my Mama is in the last pic wearing number 9 shirt when Nepal won the gold medal in the 6th SAF Games.
Wow, it felt like I was watching my own childhood album. Thank you for sharing these priceless moments with us all.
Amazing collection.e
To the commenter who suggests quoting in a different language conveys false information to newer generation: 1) write in Nepali, if you are so proud of being one and are so concerned about the next generation. 2) so by your analogy, “La foi treansporte des montagnes”, loosely translated to “faith can move mountains ” gives younger generation false ideas that we quote in French. 3) do something that makes Nepalese proud of saying I’m from Nepal. Everest and Buddha are coincidences, strive to be like Dr. Sanduk Ruit, Pasang Lamhu Sherpa, Rajesh Hamal. These are the things next generation should look forward and strive to be.. I think you should re-evaluate your false sense of patriotism and simply enjoy the pictures and the article.
Good Collection, Keep it up
I taught in a school for 10 months at Rangethanti, Syangja similar to Picture NO. One around same time
Do you have rights to use these images in this post? Just attributing few credits to the images makes you legal? Just asking out of curiosity…

In photo number 36, the newest car is the third car from the right, a 1935 Ford. The photo, therefore, must have been taken in 1935 or later, probably about 1936 or 37.
These all are…really incredable……!!! I lv it ….
